Daily Money Management Business Basics Workshop offered in Providence, R.I.
July 26, 2008, workshop sessions to provide invaluable career information.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM) will sponsor a “Daily Money Management Business Basics” workshop on Saturday, July 26 at the Sheraton Providence Airport Hotel, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The workshop is designed both for those who are considering Daily Money Management as a career and for those who are new to the profession.

Led by industry veterans Patricia A. Norris, Esq., CFP, PDMM and Susan M. Rogan, the workshop details what is needed to perform the duties of a Daily Money Manager on a day-to-day basis. Attendees will learn what DMMs do and will identify the traits and skills needed to be effective in the profession. It will also help attendees understand steps needed to establish or build a client base and understand the steps needed to jump-start the business. The interactive workshop will include a discussion of the specifics of operating your own business, including fees, pricing and billing practices.

The workshop is being offered at a rate of $240 for AADMM members and $275 for non-members. The fee includes the course, a complete training manual, a networking lunch and refreshment breaks. Non-members who join AADMM within a month of the workshop will receive a $25 discount on the membership fee.

More detailed information on the program and registration material can be found at AADMM’s Web site, www.aadmm.com. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance is limited to the first 50 paid registrants.

In addition, AADMM will offer a Certification Exam for Daily Money Managers. Details about the certification process and a copy of the application are available on the AADMM Web site, www.aadmm.com. Individuals seeking to be certified must ascribe to the stringent AADMM Code of Ethics, have 1,500 hours of experience in the field, and fulfill educational criteria to meet eligibility requirements. The test addresses five areas of competency that include bill paying, basic finance/bookkeeping, payroll and tax basics, types of expenses and standards of practice.

Certification demonstrates in a tangible way the professionalism among daily money managers and supports the AADMM’s commitment to “promoting high standards of client services provided by members, and to supporting the growth of the daily money management industry, in numbers of providers, in recognition of the field, and in the quality of services provided.” Through voluntary certification, individuals validate their skill level and add to their credentials as a leader in the industry.

A Daily Money Management Business Basics Workshop will also be held on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 in Orlando, Fla. The Certification Exam will be also given that same day.
